@danj I think he is taking about those blueish spots that can be seen on the lcd. The Apple Store will say they are burn in marks from leaving the computer open for several hours on the same image. An explanation is pretty hard to find, certain is that is a screen problem. Do you still have warranty for it or Apple Care+?

I don't have Apple Care+. And I bought for more than 1 year so I think it is out of warranty. Do you know if we can repair it by ourself?

From my experience this problem got fixed only with the LCD replacement. Being the touch-bar model the job is not that easy, so I would recommend a professional to do it.

@compuvana - I had my brightness down quite far so I didn't see the blue haze. Thanks for point it out.

Yukimura - The persistent image issue Alex point out is most likely the issue here. Sadly, background pictures that are static tend to cause this. I've moved to a standard even color background on my systems to help prevent it. Overtime it will recover some. As to the fix Alex is correct you will need a new screen. Apple only offers a full assembly replacement in the newer series as the cover glass is welded onto the LCD as well as the screen as a whole to the frame which is quite expensive! And presently Apple is the only source for the part.

No problem @danj. I had 5 with this problem lately (all ended up at apple being covered by apple care) and when I saw the model and the picture with the white background I looked closer and saw the spots.

There are only the screen for sale right now as a new part or the whole assembly from a used computer witch I don't recommend because it may come with the same problem.

Sounds like the LG displays Apple is using are not able to handle the persistent imaging backgrounds often create.

You appear to be in Preview looking at a JPG image which does not have anything in it (blank). Should it? If so are you sure it’s a JPG file and not something else mis-marked or the file its self could be damaged.

If you close the app so you’re back to the desktop what does it show?

No, I take a picture from my phone. I got preview to get white background for easily to see the blue on the screen.

If you had pointed out what your issue was it would have helped in pointing me what to look for. I keep my display at a low brightness so it was not visible.
