I have just purchased a used Sony rx100 Iv that will not turn on. The previous owner says the device was dropped and after that wouldn't turn on. Any idea what could be weong?

cellphonebuyer1 this could be related to a battery issue, check the battery contacts and do not forget the battery door. It could also be an issue with the main board and dislodged power flex. Sony’s camera all pretty much come apart the same way. Take a look at these guides and see if you can disassemble your camera. take plenty of pictures when you do so and post them with your question. that way we can see what you see. Step 16 and 17 in the above named guide show the ribbon cables. You will have to disassemble your camera and take a look at all of them.

Did you turn it on and try it out before buying it? If not, then I would say that it was broken when it was dropped. Even if you did turn it on before buying it, it is still possible that it was broken when it was dropped.

So I fixed the camera. I am not to sure what actually fixed it but I just fully disassembled the camera and reassembled it and now it is working.
