Device only booting to apple logo. Wont read on PC

Hey team.

Looking to fix up an Apple device, for which im under the impression of board level failure. The device will turn on, but only make it to the apple logo. the failure was sudden death, as per the apple standard. Middle of a text, device died. booted to the apple logo, then went black and got no signs of life. battery replacement gets power to the board, however, only gets to the apple logo.

I can boot to recovery mode, but the device wont post to the PC, so i am unable to reload the software via regular means. i attempted the charge port replacement, which did not help the computer reading the device. (Yes im using apple OEM cords that i use with every other software reload on apple devices, in a USB3.0 as well as a USB 2.0 slot) it is not Cable, or port failure.

If anyone has a tutorial on this issue, i would be happy to learn what needs to be done to fix this. Thank you in advance for any productive answers.

When it gets stuck on the apple logo does the home button make a haptic click when you press it?

With stuck on apple logo if it stays on there for a long time and just shut off and go back to the apple logo again this is usually caused by a bad / broken connection under the pads which connect the baseband chip to the logic board. The audio chip which is right next to this chip can cause this same issue to.

To get this fixed it requires micro-soldering work done on the phone to remove the chip and fix up the bad pads with jumper wires to make a good connection for the pads.

This is likely the Baseband PMU becoming disconnected or the Audio IC. This has been labeled “Loop Disease“ and is very similar to the “Touch Disease“ issue that was on the iPhone 6 & 6+. I am a soldering specialist and I have been seeing this a ton! If you have never micro soldered before I would not start with this one. However, a re-flow may be a temporary solution but you have to be very careful with temperature as the reverse side of the board holds the baseband ic which is under-filled.
