I have updated my laptop to the Windows 10 April 2018 days ago and it worked fine. This morning I turned my laptop on and it won’t let me enter my password. The password box is greyed out. I shut down my laptop and then turned it on again, but the issue still persists. Now I can’t log on and use my laptop.

Try to start Windows 10 in safe mode. If you are able to type your password after Windows 10 starts in safe mode, you can log on to safe mode and remove your password. After that, restart Windows 10 and it will automatically log you on without requiring you to typing anything.

Thanks a lot. Finally I added one new user to my Windows 10.

1. Press the Windows Key to bring up the Start Menu. Type “Run.” From the results, right click on the Run icon and select “Run as Administrator.”
2 Enter netplwiz into the Run dialog box and press enter. From the resulting application, select your user account.
3. Locate the Users must enter a username and password to use this computer checkbox and uncheck it.
4. You’ll be presented with a prompt asking for your login credentials. If you used your email ID to sign up, then the complete email address will be your default username. Enter your information and press OK.
5. Reboot your device.

Thank you! I’m unable to log on Windows 10, password box is greyed out, and the three buttons in the lower right corner are greyed out… I can’t take any further steps.

my issue is similar ;; my computer was working fine until last morning. i turned on my computer and it said that i was being logged onto a temporary account. i went onto the microsoft website and then followed the instructions to put it in safe mode. but when it finished restarting to boot safe mode, i tried logging on, but it wont accept my password. it keeps saying its incorrect with anything i type.

okay if that is the case the only thing you can do is to buy an OS from microsoft and buy external disk drive and delete everything. Otherwise you gotto get internal hard drive or SSD and replaced new one with old one then run with a new disk.
if this wont work try cleaning your errors and problems in your registry . I would recommend CCleaner for that. Using safe mode try to use CCleaner Crack in guess account. it would fix and replace all errors and mistakes. Hope it would solve your problem. As i also once faced this issue. i tried every thing but no solution was working and i also don’t want to loose my data. a friend of mine recommended me this method and it worked.

Well it may be due to your windows is too old or may be system is very heavy. It happened sometimes. When did you service your laptop? And if it is due to windows is too old then you should try repair windows option by using BOOT ISO of windows 10. These are solutions i already tried many times and worked. Now I use MAC book and my little bro use my old laptop. MAC Book don’t get these types of errors.

I am getting same problem. I need atleast my saved pc games progressed that usully saved in documents but due to some techincal reason i am unable to login. Now i am worried about the hard in my PC games. My question is in Safe mod will password disable?
