LCD assembly for late 2010 fits early 2015?

Friend brought an early 13” 2015 Macbook Air to me. Dark screen but the image is there if I shine a flashlight to it. I have in my parts bin LCD for late 2010. Will this work as a replacement for the newer model? I’d like to try it before declaring it to be a ligicboard issue.

So why do you think replacing the screen will make a difference?

If you're sure you see an image using the flashlight then you know the screen and the LVDS cable its self is less likely to be the issue.

So what could be the issue then? You’ll need to inspect the logic board LVDS connector to see if the connections are good (often times corroded). Then, you’ll need to test the fuse link to see if its still good as well as the backlight logic.

I’m hoping the problem is the LED array that provides backlight. I have the LCD assembly from a 2010 Mac Air to test / replace, but I don’t have a replacement logicboard for the 2015.
