Can't add Apps to dock
What if the dock doesn't accept applications?

Restart in Safe Mode by holding down the shift key on start up and see if you can do it. You may have installed something that is preventing it or picked up a virus.

There are a few ways to add applications to the dock:
- Drag the application icon from the Finder to the dock.
- While the application is open, drag the icon up or tp the left on your dock until its with the other apps that stay in the dock.
- While the application is open, right click or control click the app, go to options, and click Keep in Dock.
Have you tried all three? If you are trying #1 and it’s not working, make sure you are selecting the application file. If none of these works, there are a few things to try:
- First go to the Apple Menu and select Force Quit then select the Finder and Relaunch.
- If that does not work, try restarting your computer.
- If it’s still not working, as Mayer already suggested, try booting into safe mode (turn off the computer completely, then turn it on and then hold the shift key immediately until you see Apple Logo).
