In my experience tweezers and pliers work the best- just wiggle it around and stuff, not very difficult. The unfortunate part however, is that the female end may be or become damaged.

Remove the battery, then try to use a pair of tweezers to pull the plug out, or see if you can use superglue and glue a screwdriver to the plug and pull it out. If that doesn't work, then you will have to place the DC-In Board.

Never heard of the superglue one before! Sounds like an idea though.

It's not easy to remove the DC-in from a PowerBook, but if you do take it out, it's possible to straighten out a paperclip and use it to push the broken pin out of the plug from the inside. This is most effective with iBook DC-ins, especially because iBook DC-ins aren't nearly as hard to get out of the laptop. Once the DC-in is out, it's generally possible to get the paperclip in there from behind and push the pin out.
