have you tried using the suction cup as in any guide linked on the right? it's a bit safer than the screwdriver method. put middle and ring fingers on the edge of the screen at the uppermost edge where the power button is, while using thumb and index finger to lift suction cup. this acts as a lever and also stops you tearing the display ribbons off

well, try harder:p

stick a flat screw driver between the metal bezel and the rubber around the glass panel. than turn it so the screw driver inside the phone will lift the glass out of the phone.

I do not like the cup! it makes it too simple to rip of cables. I killed a display with a cup. its not safer.

the flat screwdriver made always a better job at iphones of mine which i had to repair.

it's the too much force not enough leverage that rips the screen up and breaks the cables off. that's why I told him to use his fingers as a lever/brake. I use a screwdriver only if all else fails.. guess it's each to his own...

but you agree that it's more difficult to apply the exact force?

tarafından

no. you can apply too much force with any tool, but warning someone and showing them a way to prevent it is good practice.

A large spudger helps in the tough cases. Sometimes if the screen is cracked the suction cup doesn't suck (hmmm...it does but in a different way). There are even instances where the screen is on good -debris, wax, etc. Can all get lodged in between the front panel and bezel making the task a bit daunting.

Be advised, there is a risk of damage to the rubber gasket if you pry against it. Do it once and right the first time to keep damage minimal and isolated.

Good luck!!
