How can I replace the short hose on Shark Rotator Lift-Away brushroll

The short vacuum hose in the motorized brush head is split open and I’m losing suction. I’ve been able to take the entire mechanism apart but can’t access the hose to replace it. How does this get replaced? Thanks.

I've taken apart the brushroll part. There are plenty of screws holding it together on the bottom. You will need a T20 Torx Security bit and a small screwdriver. The T20 Torx Security bit will need to be about 2 inches long and the "Security" part means that it has a hole in the tip for the post on the screws. You will also need another, smaller Torx Security bit to unscrew one end of the hose from the rotating part. I ended up bending it one way for one screw and the other way for the other. To remove that part, you will need to twist it and it should slide out. Once the brushroll itself is opened up, the other end of the hose should come right out.

Please note two things:

1. The replacement hose is 1.5 inches in diameter.

2. The original hose is GLUED in on both ends. This resulted in me literally tearing it out and scraping the glue prior to attempting to replace the hose.

@Lee Anderson, I really appreciate your detailed response. The power of the vacuum is outlasting the parts! As you've pointed out they're not always easy to replace. I appreciate your answer however, as I couldn't for the life of me figure this one out. Thanks again!

Hi Ken I have successfully replaced our hose....but because when we brought ours well used and incredibly dirty, we had to take apart and clean thoroughly we have forgotten where some parts go...it’s a few months it’s been in pieces while we sourced the hose.

Maybe you might recognise the parts and could tell us where they go. I have a separate question on here asking .

Shark does not appear to want to sell parts.

I’d contact them here and see if it’s covered under warranty:

Thank you, but actually, the parts are readily available on Amazon and eBay. I have the hose, I just can't replace the torn one. And unfortunately my warranty was over a year ago.
