Are you using alkaline batteries? The older zinc types will discharge very quickly, if they work at all, as they can't deliver the current needed.

Check the instructions and make sure the camera is designed to work with rechargeable batteries. Probably it will be, but they only produce 1.2V instead of 1.5V for alkaline (and zinc) so it isn't guaranteed.

definitely try and buy batteries from a main retailer, nothing online you don’t know how long they’ve been sitting in the warehouse , alkaline batteries typically have a 10 year shelf life. also anything that’s a “cheap” battery from say a dollar store aren’t alkaline , they will be a cheaper chemical like zinc chloride. id also suspect that if you’re still having this issue you might have a parasitic drain on your camera in that case id replace the camera

I’d take it in for a warranty repair before your year expires or you may be stuck with this issue for the life of you camera.
