5 PS3 won’t regonize disks
Recently, my PS3 started making an eject noise like in the video below. So I bought a new drive and swapped it out and it is doing the same thing. Does anyone know what this means? The PS3 doesn’t spit out any error codes and works fine except for the disk drive.

did you replace the whole disk mechanism or just changing the lens module?
if i recall correctly.... your PS3 mechanism is paired to the machine...
you will need to change back to the old one and try changing the lens module.

I did. I transferred the laser from my old one into the new one with the same result.
