Why does my Chromebook restart randomly?

For some reason when I’m watching a video or playing a game on my Chromebook it restarts out of nowhere. I already powerwashed it but it still does it. But guest mode seems to work even though you can’t download games on guest mode. Can you please tell me the solution? Thank you.

Aright. Calm down but I have your answer. Its a really bad thing but... yep: Your Chromebook keeps restarting This is a serious error that indicates a possible problem with the operating system (OS). If this happens, you need to perform a full recovery.

Good luck kid.

Watching videos and playing games on your Chromebook usually uses a lot of power. This can make your computer overheat and restart. Perhaps this only happens in Administrator Mode because Guest Mode doesn’t have as many rights to your computer’s resources (like downloading, etc.) and therefore uses less power?

Since charging your Chromebook can also produce heat, try playing the games without it plugged in and charging. If it still restarts, you may have to continue doing what you have been doing do far - downloading the media content as an administrator and then playing the games in Guest Mode.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Open the Utility. Add the Recovery Utility to Chrome and launch it. You'll need a spare 4GB USB drive that will be erased during the process.
  2. Identify the Chromebook. Use the destination Chromebook identifier to create the recovery media... Identify the destination Chromebook.
  3. Insert the USB Drive. If you have already inserted the USB drive or SD Card, select it from the list. ...
  4. Create the Recovery Image. Double check that you've selected the correct USB or SD media as it will be permanently deleted. ...
  5. Remove the USB Drive. The utility will let you know when the process is complete. Eject the USB drive or SD Card and label it clearly.
  6. And remember: Don’t worry. It’s only a bug.
