I have a problem with my iMac G4 screen not working. I hear the startup sounds, hear the hard drive running, and can see the desktop if I hold a flashlight to the screen at a slight angle. Do I need to replace the monitor ?

This appears to be an inverter issue. Please look on the metal bottom plate for just which iMac G4 you have so we can try to find the part and installation instructions.

I am experiencing the same problem with my iMac G4. Mine is 1.25Ghz/256mhz/80HD. Is it something that needs to be replaced and if so what would I need. I would appreciate any info you could give me thank you.
