Brother MFC J4510DW - Ink Absorber replacement

I have Brother MFC J4510DW - showing Ink Absorber nearly full, I have tried going in to maintenance and this works for a few more prints but then comes on again.

I have written to Brother, no helpful response apart from go to service again but miles away - not worth the cost of travel.

My question therefore is - can I clean the unit rather than change the unit, if not how do I change the absorber unit
