Having a Problem Tightening Replacement Keyboard Screws
Hi, I'm in the middle of replacing my keyboard in my Early 2013 Macbook Pro and could use some advice -
I ripped the old keyboard off and popped out all of the rivets. I put the new keyboard on and began screwing in the 50 #000 screws. Unfortunately, I've found that about half the screws will not tighten. It seems to fully go into the screw hole, but it's not tightening (i.e., the screw will just turn forever).
I have some ideas, but would like another opinion:
- Fiill holes with plastic filler and screw into them while before it hardens
- Tape the keyboard down
- Screw into the holes, tape over them
- I'd rally hate to super glue the keyboard down, but I would do it if necessary - I really only need this to last me for a few more months. My concern with gluing would be the mess and the temperature when the CPU spins.
So… any thoughts?
Thanks!
