I need to replace the water actuator on my Electrolux Icon Model E23CS78GPS1. Most youtube videos show this repair on different models that show screws holding on the cover plate but I think mine has tabs. Any hints of where those tabs are and the safest way to pop them? Thanks.

Remove the drip pan. Then remove the two screws fastened to top of the inside of the cover. I prefer to use a thermostat screwdriver or putty knife to snap it out without damaging the door. Good luck!

How do I 'snap it out'? It seems like there are 4 tabs on the sides holding that cover. Does the whole unit slide upward or what?? Stay with me, please....
It's a little tricky. I like to push down on the bottom and pull outwards then slide it up and off. Sometimes Itll take some force. Use the putty knife as lever almost and push out
Me again. We got the cover plate off, replaced the paddle, but then when it was all put back together it didn't work. No lights on the screen, no water or ice coming out. We noticed that the ribbon connecting the dispenser switch board to the board controller is loose at the controller end. Do you think we need to replace that ribbon? Is this a familiar problem? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Quinn - thanks for that tip... I have removed the screws and it seems like the cover plate is attached by 4 tabs -- at the top and bottom on both side. Do those slide up in a slot? Do I need to tap the bottom to get it started sliding or is there another trick. My putty knife slides all the way around except at those 4 tab spots.
