Loudspeaker replaced but problem persist

I just replaced the loudspeaker on my pixel 3 since it was all muffled and like static. After I replace the speaker I was surprise that the problem persisted. So what I tried next was to take the speaker out of its chamber but keeping it connected and it was working ok. So the problem is the speaker grill, I told to my self, and started looking for ways to cleaning it from qtips with alcohol to using a toothbrush and nothing. The only solution I could imagine is removing the display to replace de speaker grill but I fear to crack the screen while removing it. Any suggestions?
