Green flashing light on charger, will not turn on

Hi all, I've an issue with my 2008 MacBook where the charger light flashes green and will not power on. I've tried the Shift/P/R and option key reset and nothing happens, when I hold power the light stops flashing but still nothing happens. I've tried two different chargers, any idea what it could possibly be?
