PS3 Slim sees game but won’t Read it

I inserted a disc, and it registered the disc was in the console. When I went to go play it, I got an error saying the console couldn't read the game. It sounded like the disc would spin for a second and then stop and then it would start spinning again. I then inserted another disc and it didn't register it. I know the game works.  What could be causing this issue?
