Console not playing digital games

Hi everyone,

I’m running into some issues with a console. It seems to not play digital games downloaded through GamePass. On most of them, such as Horizon 4, Dirt 4, Project Cars 2 it just hangs at the splash screen. Hellblade and Witcher seem to work just fine. GTA V has no dialogue.

As far as things that I’ve tried:

• Factory reset
• New HDD + OS reinstall
• Soft reset
• Hard reset
• Different account
• BD-drive cache reset
• Alternate MAC address
• Wired vs. WiFi connection
• Manual port forwarding on router vs. UPnP
• Different WiFi network
• Different WiFi card
• Different DNS settings
• Original Microsoft controller vs. aftermarket controller vs. Xbox Android App vs. keyboard and mouse
• Different power supply, power cable; with or without extender and with or without power stabiliser
• Reinstalling games through GamePass
• Reinstalling games through Store App
• Low resolution mode
• Registering the console as a home console on my account
• Removing any other devices from my Microsoft account, aside from my laptop

As far as GTA V dialogue issues go, I’ve tried:

• Changing all possible sound-related settings from the Xbox
• Using S/PDIF audio
• Using HDMI audio
• Using controller / headphones audio
• Using mono
• Changing game-related audio settings

I don’t think there are other things I’ve tried up to now.

Trying to get through to Microsoft’s support team has proven absolutely impossible. For issues with games, they redirect you to chat to an Xbox Gamer or something similar. Unfortunately, the issue was odd even for them.

I do realise that it might just be an issue with Microsoft / Xbox servers in the UK, so one thing I was thinking of testing was to pass it through a VPN or proxy, so that it tries to use other servers, although my hopes on that are incredibly slim…

Also, I’ve tried looking up the aspect of it being banned, but it seems that it isn’t. I created the GamePass account on it and also had no issues downloading any of these games.

Has anyone ever encountered this type of issue beforehand? Is there anything else I could try?
