Recently found my old mp3 player, a philips GoGear Mix 4GB and I really hope I can fix it but it doesn’t react when I plug it into my computer and press the reset button. If anyone has any advice on how to start I’d greatly appreciate it.

I had the same problem with mine. After running a couple of tests with the multimeter I found that the control circuit for the battery was dead. After replacing it I also cleaned the pins and made sure they were not short circuiting the board. It now works as it did before the fix was needed. Hope this helps!

How did you take it apart though? I've been trying to figure that out for a while and haven't had any luck. Much thanks if you could help me out.
