Hi guys,
I am looking for a tool (or the best work-around) for opening the screws of the iMac G4 silver neck. I have opened it before with screwdrivers and bits, but it was a real pain and I would love a solid tool for doing it again.

Apple doesn’t offer the sub components that makes up the neck. Here’s one source for the needed part:

Thanks, but I don't need a replacement part, I just need a tool to open the neck with...
In that case you'll need to make a custom tool. A piece of brass rod should do it drill the three holes into the brass rod (handle) and using some steel pins of the correct diameter press fitted should do the trick.

I don't remember needing to take the neck apart for any repairs.

@danj It’s not traveling smoothly anymore and I’m trying to see if I can clean the inside up a bit or put a new plastic bracket in to make it smoother...
