3DS lower screen green tint

I picked up a faulty 3ds a while back with a Green tint on the lower screen. I have tried replacing the lower screen and still get the same green tint with the new screen installed, I’ve cleaned the whole board and can’t see anything damaged that would have caused this and the rest of the 3DS runs completely normally no problems. As I bought it like this so can’t say if it has been damaged in the past somehow or anything. Has anyone seen this before and managed to fix it? Thanks!

Hi!

Yes, saw this before and somehow the green tint disappeared magically. You need to clean the connector where the screen goes in. Make sure if sits flawless and is not blocked anywhere or pressed to the case.. Also make sure nothing is making a short. You’ve tried 2 different screens, right? If you still facing this issue, it could be motherboard related and further investigation is required to solve it.

Hey @evzie ! You ever find a fix to this? I bought a 2DS with a broken screen, just installed a brand new screen and it has a very prominent green tint to it, not quite sure how to proceed or which ribbon cable(s) I should focus on to solve the issue. Thanks!

EDIT: I fixed it!! Although the ribbon cables looked perfectly seated, even under a magnifying lens, I reseated them twice and the issue was solved! Must not have been perfectly connected. If anyone has problems with the screen being heavily tinted one color, I strongly recommend you try try adjusting your ribbon cables, multiple times if necessary
