i have been told that the ipod's touch ribbon is broken what should i buy to replace it

Amazon has pretty good digitizers. Note that if you don't break anything when taking the digitizer off your Ipod then you will be able to save the bezel attached to the digitizer. You can remove that bezel with a hair dryer and apply it to your new digitizer. Although, I think it's worth it to just buy a digitizer with the bezel already attached.
You'll also have to transfer the HOME button over too.
