No image showing up, but everything else works, what problem it is?

My 24” Cinema Display stopped displaying anything (totally darkness) recently, but everything else seems works fine, such as speakers, iSight cam, and my MacBook can still detect it. I thought it might be the all-in-one cable issue, so, I bought one used over eBay and have it replaced, but it is the same issue, black screen. I also tried using a flash light on the screen, but can’t see any images at all. So, at this stage, what’s the most possible cause? Any thoughts?

Thanks,

@lovecd could be the LCD but I would suggest you go ahead and post some pictures of all of your parts in particular the logic board. Let's see if there are other things that cause this.

@lovecd could be the LCD but I would suggest you go ahead and post some pictures of all of your parts in particular the logic board. Let's see if there are other things that cause this. You should at least have a backlight even if your panel is not working.

Check the voltage on your logicboard. Between TP81 and chassis ground you should have between 23.3 and 25.7 Volt. If you don’t it is most likely the logic board not the panel.

Thanks, will try that. A question though, if the issue is with the logic board, why I can get all other functionalities, such as iSight, speakers, USB ports working?

tarafından

@lovecd different circuits on the logic board. They are probably separated since you wont need the video or backlight circuitry for that etc.

Here is the update. I checked the voltage between TP81 and chassis ground, it showed some numbers, but then changed to 1 quickly. Does this mean the logic board might be the cause?

tarafından

Yes it is possible. You need that voltage. What are the numbers on the logic board. Maybe we have luck with finding the schematic

What do you mean the numbers on the logic board?

The… screen? Considering you already replaced the cable and your Mac still detects it, the only assumption really left would be that the screen itself is just dead (not the whole monitor)
