I dropped my iPad and now it won't charge or turn on

My iPad Pro 12.9 was dropped and now won’t charge or turn on. Apple says it must be replaced at a cost of $650 and is not even reparable without even looking at it. Is that true and do I have any other options ?

Could you direct me to one ? I have an appointment at the Apple store today and need to decide if I want them to give me a new one for $650. I find it a very strange policy to have devices that can't be repaired. I've noticed that some parts only cost $25-100 dollars.

Dropping such a heavy device can certainly cause logic board damage. This may be repairable by an experienced micro-soldering technician but it’s impossible to say from here what the actual issue is. I would focus on the charge port, connectors and charge circuit first to see if anything is obviously damaged.

Further board level troubleshooting would be required if nothing comes up from the initial verification. That said, there’s not a ton of technical information on these devices , which is why you need to find an experienced tech.

EDIT(Just for fun)

@irealpro99. You’re kidding , right?
