On my kindle, I don’t know if it’s the right generation, but it’s an Amazon Fire Kindle…and it’s been cracked for years, and I had no problems at all..until now. It’s white with black. Here are some images. The kindle still makes sounds when I press the volume keys, is there still hope or no?.

Wow… that does look like quite the damage. It could be that some moisture or other elements got into the screen, since it was cracked; causing the damage you now have. My guess is that the digitizer is now damaged, where before it was just the glass.
For the repair and time, it’s just worth more to get a newer one. The Kindle 8 is constantly on sale and has a variety of colours and two storage capabilities.

Alright, thanks. Do you know if there's any way I can get my photos? I have some from a trip I took with my family (I always bring the kindle and phone, just because of younger sibs) and they have family members who passed away, and I would like them on my phone. Do you know if I can still get them?
You can try to connect the device to a computer through the USB.
Windows
- A message will appear stating that a new device was found and is preparing to install.
- A second message will appear within a few seconds or about a minute, stating that the device is ready to use.
- Go to My Computer and click the new drive.
- You should be able to explore what's inside the tablet and find photos.
- Once you find them, drag and drop them on the folder where you want them in your computer, i.e, My Photos.
Mac
- Open Photos icon (should be on the dock or you can search for it on Finder).
- Go back to the desktop and a new drive should have appeared on your desktop.
- Double click on that drive.
- Search for the photos that you want.
- Once you have them, drag and drop them on the Photos App.
Should these options not work, then you may have lost those photos for good unfortunately. So, I hope that it works out for you.

Alright, thank you so much. "For the repair and time, it’s just worth more to get a newer one." How long would it take for it to be repaired? I'm just wondering because yes, it may take 6 hours or something like that, but it might be worth it.
