Xbox One controller was introduced in 2016 with the launch of the Xbox One S and adds Bluetooth support for Windows 10/11. This controller fixes many of the design flaws found on the Model 1537/1697 controllers and is much more reliable. This controller has been replaced with the improved Model 1914 controller.

Xbox One analog drift but not the usual one

Common problem, the right stick is drifting upwards. However…

I desoldered the right stick, turned on the controller and even physically without the stick it was still drifting. Then I installed a new analog (entire new unit not just the potentiometers), and it still drifts like if we were in the 90s.

Send help, no visual problems on the board, however the main motor red cable was desoldered when i opened it up, but i dont see how it may affect the controller in any serious way. Btw the controller emits rather quiet buzzing sound tho I heard it’s normal.

Missing resistor or a broken trace can cause this issue.

Check for shorts in the near of the sticks

This is a problem with the specific build your xbox is on, I had this months ago on a preview build and it was fixed in the next couple updates, it's abysmal that microsoft even allowed this update to go out on the “Stable” update cycle. Literally game breaking. On a box designed to play games. Stupid. Just keep updating it gets patched out.

Yeah, the problem is still present on PC and XBOX to this day so it's not the case i believe
