Hi guys, I found a burnt socket in my laptop today. It is not burnt heavily, should simple replacement of DC power jack work? How do I find out if the socket or motherboard is not damaged? I have multimeter at home. What was the cause? I am gonna check charger too. Thank you.

The socket needs to be replaced, requires soldering. I suggest if you are in the US sending it to Northridge Fix as they have really good reviews and a YouTube channel. You can mail it in, if they can’t fix it they won’t charge.
