Block Image

Please help identify (Brand, part no) LVDS connector marked J9001 on K36 MLB logic board of Macbook A1181

It has 22 visible pins, although on schematics there are 26 pins (4 are casing soldered to GND).

Thanks a lot!

The part is only listed as S-050162B F-RT-SM on the schematic. I was unable to locate it via Google.

I doubt you’ll find the logic board connector as a spare on its own. The best I can suggest is locating a junker to acquire the part. That then gets into what you can find and the costs.

Depending on which model you have you might want to just swap out the logic board as this is not an easy connector to desolder.

@nielsbor - While I commend your efforts to re-use parts.

This series MacBook display uses CFL's for its backlight logic so it also has a power inverter which would also need power besides the LCD panels logic. I'm sure the CFL tubes and inverter have worn-out given the systems age (dim or discolored images).

Also keep in mind electronics has transitioned from LVDS signaling to eDP (iDP) signaling for displays as well.

@danj This very macbook has pretty alive backlight. I connected backlight connector to the same adapter. It has +12, +5, GND, PWM. So it works
