Galaxy S10 Plus - Blank screen after battery replacment

About four hours after successful battery change, the display showed color changes then went blank. Possible alcohol w/ glue seepage into connectors?

I replaced my S10+ battery following IFIXIT instructions exactly. I tested the phone before installing the phone's back cover - all good! I performed the battery calibration as instructed.

The phone is on but my display is black. I tried the reset method 20 times - no dice.

My analysis is that a tiny amount of 91% alcohol must have remained after reassembly and shorted out the display. It ruined my phone! Better advice would have prevented this very expensive failure.

I just replaced my battery and had the same thing happen, worked fine for about 12 hours then started noticing washed out colors, then screen went dark, power button still has feedback and touch screen seems to work but now it only shows black or periodically green static on screen. We're you able to fix this issue on your phone?

I wasn't, apparently my screen completely died, it worked fine after changing the battery, but died about 2 or 3 hours after the change, the last thing it showed was green static and then off, it no longer responds to touch, so I will see if I can buy a cheap defective screen to at least recover the files on the internal memory. Ended up buying a new phone Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro, very nice, better HW than the s10+ and was cheaper than a brand new screen.

And you, did you manage to bring it back to life ? Had exactly the same issue...

I had to replace the OLED display. I am guessing the glue and alcohol mix damaged it.

Try leaving it a few weeks, it may come back to life I had this exact problem and ended up getting a new phone several weeks ago. I left the S10 in a drawer with the battery disconnected. Today I needed some data on the old phone (using dex) so I reconnected it and the screen came right back on, as vibrant as ever! No dex needed!

Something been damaged. Pry damage to board, or the back of the OLED panel when you've pryed the battery off.

The display worked perfectly for a while, then quit. This was repeated. This is counter indication to hardware damage. It turned out to be adhesive residue from too much alcohol. Also got into the upper microphone and SD card tray. Use alcohol sparingly if you must.

I got the same issue. Following iFixit guide for removing the battery. It worked normally for 12 hours, then I started noticing issues with touchscreen, then screen turned green and then it went completely black. I took it to official Samsung repair shop. They confimed that screen is dead. Root cause is the same as if it would be liquid spill (but no liquid signs).

I would suggest following Rob's advice: It turned out to be adhesive residue from too much alcohol. Also got into the upper microphone and SD card tray. Use alcohol sparingly if you must.

I would add that don't use any alcohol at all. I also found black reisdues of "melted" plastic on my SIM card.
