I am wondering what could cause my note's screen to have 1/3 of the screen at proper color, but the 2/3 is slightly darker. Can I fix such an issue without replacing the screen and battery? I was quoted by a repair service $300 ish for replacing the screen and battery to fix it, so trying to decide if to just upgrade to a new phone or try to DIY if I can fix it.

Mica Busby this "1/3 of the screen at proper color, but the 2/3 is slightly darker" does sound like a display issue. Unlikely that you can get a software fix etc. top resolve this. The only options really are you spend lots of money for a new display or you just learn to live with it if you can still see things on your screen.

Ok. Thanks for the help. The display still works well, just annoying that the screen is not all the same tone. I love this phone, so I will try to get a few more years out of it... But, I will be saving up for the time that comes when I do replace it once it does start to go. I just got to thinking of my last phone and pondering my options to be prepared instead of getting in a panic.
@Mica Busby yup I totally understand. I honestly hate when things like that make our lives more complicated and has us spending our hard earned money. You are doing the right thing by continuing to use it!.
