My hp laptop I is not turning on but the power led is on,

My hp laptop i is not turning on but the power led is on, hard drive not turning in short nothing happens only the power led turns on can you please help. I tried cleaning the ram, removing battery fn+power nothing I hv done works. When I plug external monitor it does to power saving mode
