How do I replace the waste ink pad, and how do I reset the counter?

I don't have a direct answer for this because I honestly haven't tried to replace the pads on that model myself. I have however designed and fitted an external waste ink tank which is a LOT easier to do. Oh and small note you would also need to reset the waste ink counter using something like the WICReset app.
If you're really determined you can look for the service manual under photo 1500w, artisan 1430.
You should be able to find some instructions for fitting an external tank if you do a web search for "waste ink artisan 1430 photo 1500W"
NB: The Photo 1500W is the same printer but with different model reference for the EU market.
