iPhone 8 Plus. My Wi-Fi is greyed out and is not working.

iPhone 8 Plus. What is this circled connector for, it's broken in fact? My Wi-Fi is greyed out and is not working, is it because the connector it's broken?

I believe this is for grounding. I don't happen to have boardviews readily available. But I don't recall any components on that little piece and it just screws from the board to the chassis, or possibly from the antenna to ground. Antenna issues usually present as weak or no signal.

If your WiFi is greyed out this is more indicative of a board issue. This is actually quite common on the 8 Plus and could be related to a few things on the board.

Depending on what you have already tried I would recommend having a look at the iPhone Won't Connect to WiFi page.

UPDATE: Had a look at boardviews for this and it's an alternate chassis ground. So super unlikely to be the cause of your issue. You'll want to have a look at the WiFi chip on the board itself. Sometimes you can tell they're fried just by looking, but could also be it's just not making contact with the board or a pad under the WiFi chip is ripped. Jesse Cruz at VCC board repairs wrote some good info on repairing this at repair.wiki

@showmak Alisha is correct. If the Wi-Fi is greyed out it will be a board problem not an antenna or connector and will require the correct experience and equipment to diagnose and repair the problem which will probably require replacing or re-balling the Wi-Fi IC. If you need to replace the IC you will need to unbind it by editing the MAC Address on the NAND.

The connector serves RF purposes, not sure if it is for feed or ground.

When the feature grey out, it's always the chip, don't worry about the antenna.
