My on /off switch cover is cracked

the cover plastic on my garmin 1000 (the white strip on the left side of the unit) is cracked. It works but it will get wet in the rain. Can that white seam be replaced?

I had the same problem. I solved it with a piece of bicycle inner tube and a piece of rubber from a doormat. Cut with a razor blade. The height (2.5 mm) and size of the pyramid must be exactly right. I glued it with superglue. Until today it works.
