Is there any way to reset an Apple Ipad without Apple ID password?

it is icloud locked and the previous owner wont respond to my emails. is there any way to get around this?

@andyreww The only 2 legal ways of going around it, is 1) Previous owner must remove from iCloud devices; 2) Get Apple involved, but they require the original receipt when the phone was first purchased. IMEI must be on that receipt.

Ther are illegal ways, but we do not provide help with that here.

Since I paid for the device and I legally own it, then how is anything I do to it illegal? Just wondering.

@andyreww By using iOS, you are accepting a lot of different Terms & Conditions set by Apple. They prohibit the circumvention of their security, in any way that isn’t approved by Apple themselves. iCloud locks is the biggest lock, and trying to go around it is therefore illegal, because you are accepting the T&C by using iOS.

This is a very involved topic, because in one way I fully agree: I own the device, I should be able to do what I want to it!

However; There are tens of thousands of iPhones stolen every year, and one of the last line of defenses against stolen devices overrunning the market, is the iCloud locks (amongst others).

You could provide the information in a pm or email and say that it is for educational purposes only and that you are not responsible for anything that i do with it. I'll provide my number if your willing.

Also I can send you proof of purchase if that what's holding you up.
