95 Caldina Won’t Go Into 2nd, 4th, Reverse

I’ve got a 95 Toyota Caldina ST195 manual, drives in 1st, 3rd and 5th with no issues whatsoever. When it comes to 2nd, 4th and Reverse, they’re just extra neutrals.

I’ve been told it would most likely be the shift link cable, is there a way to go about testing these parts and maybe go about “tightning” them?
