I replaced Lamp bulb with a new one, but no light from bulb

I recently replaced the lamp bulb for my Optoma UHD60 with a brand new oem bulb, but after doing this the projector will not "turn on". It powers up and I see the blue power light, but if I look at the actual lamp bulb, no light is coming from it. The fans start running and I can see that the color wheel is spinning, but no light from the bulb and a few seconds later the red lights come on telling me to replace the bulb. There is also a high pitched ringing sound coming from the area that the color wheel is installed when it starts to spin, so maybe there is something weird going on there, but I would think that the lamp bulb would still turn on if it was just a color wheel issue. I've tried with 3 other bulbs at this point, so I don't think it is the bulb.

It seems the Optoma UHD models have similar main boards, and I believe all of them use the TI DLP main chip. It seems many of these models have an issue of no picture output upon replacing the bulb, where the projector powers on with a blue light, followed by 1 - 2 red lights.

There is a chiplet on the board called PMD1000 that distributes stepped-down voltage. It also powers the color wheel motor, and fans. There is an aluminum block beneath the board for heat dissapation, and poor contact with this block can result in the chiplet overheating and burning out prematurely. This YouTube video here showcases the process of replacing the chiplet. (there is a follow-up video where he replaces the bulb and the projector is in good working order again)

This may not be thbe solution to your problem, but it's worth a shot.

Ugh… sounds like this is probably my issue. I’m technical, but I don’t think I have the expertise to solder the new chip onto the board. Kinda sucks, only had the projector 4 years and it seems like a lot of people have had similar issues. Thanks for the info though.
