Why does my carousel play no music but still spins occasionally.

Hello, I have a Christmas carousel and it has an intermittent fault wherby on occasion the product will only spin but not play any music and the light in the centre column will flash on and off a few times. When unplugged and plugged back in after a few times it begins to work normally again as it should. We have had the DC port replaced and the fault is still present I am just wondering if you know what the solution to this problem might be. Thanks, Dan
