The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Is a Mid-Tier phone released by Samsung on March 17, 2021

Phone keeps showing a line of pixels and randomly restarting

My phone keeps showing a line of pixels in random spots on the display before rebooting, it does this randomly with periods of up to like an hour where the phone will work fine, and there's no outside damage or cracks on the display, Does anyone know what could be wrong?

I have had the same issue with my Samsung A53. Tried cycling it, hard reboot, deleting a bunch of Apps, reseting network settings, then all settings and finally factory reset.

It would work better at times and other times it's useless, just continuously rebooting or not turning on at all.

Interested in any insight or solutions available, still a great phone otherwise and I still have it but had to get a new phone thar I can rely on.

i have a similar problem whit the pixel lines showing up and freezeing the unit, in testing if you take apart and take out the motherboard cover the onu with the grafite sensor the phone will works as normal and no freezing or rebooting, i dont know what is causing the issue but is in that cover

Hello Smart lab,

Quick question, what do you mean by cover the onu with the grafite sensor ?

I don't understand what the operation to solve the issue.

In any case thank you for your help

sorry for the late reply, is the NFC antena, i think it make presure on the phone motherboard and cause this issue, the rando pixel line and the phone to freeze

Did anyone try to replace the display? I'm having the same issue now 2 years after buying it. Thought it was an issue with my motherboard but this forum says otherwise. It also often makes noise through my speaker before restarting. If a new display is the solution that would be a lot better than buying a new phone!

Same issue happening with me hardly 2 years with my A53 5g some random noise coming from the speaker and it goes in a cycle of reboots or a pixel line horizontal and then goes in reboot cycle, interestingly it gets hot near the camera and the nfc area so I am using a phone cooler at the moment

It sounds like the OLED panel is damaged this usually happens after a drop.

As for the reboot issue i suspect that the screen draws too much power causing the phone to semi-randomly reboot.

A new display is likely to fix it. but i would take it to a professional who has a warranty on repairs, just in case it's more than the screen.

I took it to a repair place and the person there recommended I factory reset the phone to which I did after saving everything I could need anyway the phone works for a few days as normal still randomly restarting but rarely until today where it's started with the same issue as before, I just wonder why it worked fine the first few days and then only now it's started up again

hi, did changing Display help you? Please answer, because i have same problem

I got the same issue. On my 1.5 Year old A53 5G, it sometimes freezes, shows some bright randomly colored Pixels, then reboots. Sometimes it does not reboot, requireing me to press Power+Volume Down for ~8 Seconds. Sometimes that also does not work and i can't turn it on again. In this state, it also does not charge. If i just let it rest for ca. 12h, i can turn it on again. It can crash in different apps, on the home screen or when the display is of. It seems to crash when to hot, when under load (e.g. when rebooting. this is quite bad as it can lead to a boot loop). It also crashes when falling down or experiencing minor shocks (e.g. Potholes in a car, putting it on a table with a bit of force, shaking it). I suspected a loose connector inside the phone at first, but i brought it to a reapair shop and they said they could not find anything loose. Infact, the phone did not crash for them at all. This made them suspect that an app was crashing my phone, since it put the phone into repair mode before giving it to them, which disables all non-standard apps from working. They also said that it could be my sim card slot being broken and crashing it, which is supported by the fact that the phone randomly disconnects my sim card roughly once a week and requires a restart to recognize it again. This seems unlikely though, as it also crashed once without the sim card in it. If anyone has some insight on what causes this and/or how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Just an update. My phone has eventually become completely bricked and I never found a solution. Everything you described I also experienced. No idea what is going wrong with these phones.

I sent my phone in for a repair a week ago. I am still covered under warranty, so its hopefully gonna be free. Could not fix it myself tho, the best solution is to let it be repaired

Hi everybody I FOUND THE SOLUTION, i hope that i will write corect in english, i own a galaxy a53 5g 256GB internal storage, my phone is out of warranty. The phone starded two monts ago to freze the scren, sometimes a pixel line appear and sometimes even made a strange sound for maybe 10 second than restart. So i started to search te problem. The problem is that the solder that keeps CPU glued to the motherboard cracks at microscopic level, and when you use the phone and cpu is hot dilates and is not making contact and the phone crash. The solution is to "reball the cpu" this procedure can be made by somebody that fix phones, you can find many videos on youtube. But I can't find somebody to do this "cpu reball" in my area. So i was thinking that if i will borrow a hot blower from a friend, theardown the phone and heat the cpu until the soder wil melt the bad tiny contact that is imperfect betweent cpu and motherboard will reglue back. So i set the air blower on 380°C on the step 3. Heat the CPU for maybe 40 seconds until the soder melt, than i stoped and wait 5 minutes for the motherboard to cool down, WITHOUT MOVING OR TOUCHING THE MOTHER BOARD, i assembled everything back And now the phone works perfectly.

WARNIG: in youtube videos they remove the cpu from mother board, put fresh soder and glue the cpu back. I DIDN'T MADE THAT PROCESS. ALL I DID WAS TO HEAT TE CPU UNTIL I SAW THE SODER MELTING, AND THAN I STOPED AND DIDN'T TOUCHED OR MOVED THE MOTHERBOARD FOR 5 MINUTES UNTIL IT COOLED DOWN. SO IF YOU HEAT THE CPU DON'T TOUCH IT, YOU JUST WANT THAT SODER TO MELT SO THE TINI PIN FROM CPU SPOT THAT IS NOT CONECTED WELL ON THE MOTHERBOARD TO RECONECT.

IF YOU DON'T FIND SOMEBODY SPECIALIZED TO DO THOS JOB YOU DO IT ON YOUR OWN RISK.
