My iPod keeps resetting itself when I charge or try to sync it Now I can't back up my iPod as it shuts down in the middle and then reboots itself also I can't have any new stuff on it coz within few minutes of connecting it to power supply source or USB port it shuts down and restarts

It sounds like the battery life is at it's end. Try replacing the battery!

Thanks for your answer. But if I leave it on charge for a while it gets charged and lasts me good amount of time, is it still battery issue?
It could have a bad power control circuit problem on the battery pack itself, or a loose or bad solder connection on the logic board .
You may want to check and see if a ribbon cable may have came loose.
