Transferring an A1707 2017 Mainboard to a 2016 A1707 MacBook Pro

My 2017, A1707 Touchbar Macbook Pro screen died, so I picked up a nice used 2016 Touchbar A1707 cheap, and I was going to rob the 2016 display and put it on my 2017, then I saw that the 2016 had MUCH more battery left, and the case is nicer as well. I saw this on everymac.com: "The 'Late 2016' models use the 'Skylake' architecture whereas the 'Mid-2017' models use the newer 'Kaby Lake' architecture as well as newer graphics processors and faster SSD storage." Does the different architecture prevent me from dropping the 2017 guts into the 2016 Mac? Will the battery, etc. be compatible? Thanks in advance for your help!
