@naveengoswami There is a way around this setup issue, but it requires manual setup: You can use the HP UPD to work around the problem, but the rub is these 1010 series printers are so lackluster on RAM (this is made worse by the fact they use modified PCL, which is NOT AN ISSUE on bigger machines with the RAM to support it). This causes it to occasionally error with a PCL error, which can be fixed by cycling it intermittently. PostScript MAY be more reliable, but I never tested it then and can no longer do so, as I got rid of it a long time ago.

You will need to follow the USB instructions for this model: (Windows) Installing a HP LaserJet Printer using the HP UPD

THIS IS A DOT4 PERIOD HP, NOT USB_001, LIKE MY DEMO M401. Keep this in mind when you choose a protocol. You also cannot use the Windows Settings control panel. You have to use the legacy control panel for this machine. I've since made the needed corrections.

The other driver you may need is on the HP UPD website.

I just finished installing it on windows 11 go to HP LaserJet 1012 Printer - Troubleshooting

download driver file for Vista-64 bit. after extracting go to add printer, using USB using local or network printer. Have Disk, search the extracted files for the .inf file. choose your printer model.

Those drivers are miserable on the low RAM printers - the 1010 series is modified PCL and PS -- The PCL Vista driver clogs the RAM up and it can't do complexity *at all* - the PS UPD copes better. I no longer have my 1012 (I'm using Lexmark now, but I'd buy a OEM Lexmark Xerox if it was priced right and not locked to metered toner; even Ricoh) but I remember the flaw all too well.

These issues are why I tend to go for enterprise grade machines, even with the risk of buying a "Class A" machine. You can contain things like cable emissions with Cat6a or Cat7 STP cabling; but I'd probably buy true Cat7 to network a Class A Ricoh or Xerox in to make sure the cables are a non issue.
