where/how to do data recovery?

title says it all mostly. one of my friends recently broke their ipad which is currently one of their only sources of income, it's going to be cheaper for us to replace the ipad than repair the broken screen but we need the data from the old ipad. is there a way that we can do that ourselves without the use of the screen? or does anyone know of a reputable company that does data recovery for fairly cheap?

No you need the screen to enter the code, otherwise it’s not possible to get any data out of it.

I've seen videos of people pulling data off of ruined ipads before but no links to services or anything. this is why I'm asking. how did they recover the data if it's impossible without a code?

@patrickfer48624 you probably watched the video wrong? They just repair the board then put it back together to turn it on and export the data. I didn’t see any video about pulling data out straight.
