Yellow stuff coming out of speaker

I'm looking to repair an A2251 macbook pro but there's yellow stuff coming out of one of the speakers. The MacBook will turn on but won't stay on and nothing comes on the screen (main screen or when connected to a monitor). Would it be worth replacing the speaker or do you think I would need to replace the battery as well. I'm assuming that since the MacBook won't stay on, it would also need a new battery.

thats liquid damage, try turning it on with the basics connected like screen, battery and keyboard, also check the logic board for signs of damage

Yeah, I have to agree; that's not something coming out of the speaker, but rather something that got into the speaker from outside the case; i.e., something got spilled on it once upon a time. Use liquid damage mitigation procedures on anything that looks like it may have been affected.

The stuff came from outside a spilled drink maybe?

In any case you need a few parts like speakers and there is likely junk stuck under the logic board. This could get expensive if it’s not too late now. Get some cotton swabs and pads to clean as much as you can. Just dampen the cotton so nothing wrings out I would use distilled water or 80% isopropyl alcohol. Don’t use tap water as it’s loaded with minerals and salts which you don’t want.

Review this MacBook Pro 13" Two Thunderbolt Ports 2019 Teardown as that should help explain your systems construction.
