All lights turn on, but the screen stays black forever.

My New 3ds XL (CFW) activates all of the lights (power, charging, Wi-Fi) when I attempt to power on my device, but both of the screens stay black. Any advice?

This is a known bug with luma. Take out the game card, and leave the system open and powered on for 10-15 minutes. If it boots in that time, the bug's fixed and you're good to go
