Touch screen inoperative after battery installed

replaced battery with ifixit.com procedures and parts. All appeared to go well and computer working fine except touch screen inoperative. Pen still works on most of screen but not all. Dead spot for 2" wide top to bottom. Checked device manager HID compliant touchscreen and search updates, latest version was installed. I am willing to replace screen if needed, but wanted to search all alternatives to be sure screen is bad. I have not reglued screen back in yet. Suggestions to verified need of replacement screen are appreciated.
