I got this PS3 super slim in an auction and after i picked it up and set it up i put in a GTA san Andreas i here the disc spin but doesnt doesn't appear in the menu i open the tray and close it while its on i see and icon display as its attemping to be read and then it fails

@mastertem try some other disks and see if those work. TRy DVD's and CD's and see what works. This could be a laser issue or a drive issue. If it reads one but not the other you know you have a weak laser, if it does not read anything you more than likely have a bad laser. The assemblies are specific to your drive, so to replace it, you will need to make sure that you know which drive you have.
