GameCube disk not spinning /sticky “open” button
The consoles “turns on” and I checked that at the store, from my knowledge the disk “doesn’t spin” the tray and lens was very dirty. I am going to be purchasing the cord and controllers to test. (Since I haven’t owned one before) but my main issue here is that the “open” button gets stuck and I have to pry it out with fingernail to close it. Any sort of easy repair?

I've had that "sticky button" problem, too. I "fixed" it by breaking it. I pried the thing out with a screwdriver, although I did mangle the thing in the process, so I would only resort to this if you're desperate. I have a hunch as to why this occurs. I suspect that after so many presses, the plastic prongs that hold the button in and operate the internal mechanism become rough (because of the rubbing of plastic against plastic) enough to start jamming it down.

Hi!
This is a very old post. But anyway, you can lift the button up from the bottom. Just press the plastic bars up from the bottom side and the button will come out without damage. Clean everything there and put it back in. This should do the trick.
